Moreover, nature-based solutions, such as reforestation, sustainable land management, and ecosystem restoration, offer cost-effective and scalable approaches to climate adaptation and mitigation. According to the World Bank, investments in nature-based solutions could provide up to one-third of the mitigation needed to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement [World Bank, 2021]. These solutions offer co-benefits such as biodiversity conservation, water security, and poverty alleviation, making them win-win options for both people and the planet. However, realizing the full potential of these opportunities requires concerted action at all levels of society, from individuals and communities to governments and businesses. Climate change is a collective challenge that demands collective solutions, grounded in solidarity, cooperation, and shared responsibility. As former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon aptly stated, “There is no Plan B because there is no Planet B” [Ban Ki-moon, 2014]. The urgency of addressing climate change requires bold and decisive action on a scale commensurate with the magnitude of the challenge.
